Quiet activities...
Children are able to go to a quiet area to read, play a quiet game, or just rest away from the activities.  Staff will regularly check in on the children and will develop a shared reading option, whereby a book is chosen and the group of children together with staff takes turns to read to each other.

Imaginative play
As an addition to the imaginative play in the construction, arts/crafts, cooking areas, we also have a home area of cups, saucers etc. which include dressing up clothes, beads bags and shoes (male and female).

Cooking...
They will have the opportunity to prepare foods within their activities.  Dishes would include pizzas, salads, dips etc.  We will encourage the older (year 6) children to help with the more complicated foods such as spaghetti bolognaises, pasta bakes, etc.  We will need your daily consent for your child to help.  The member of staff leading this activity will hold a Food Hygiene Certificate and a maximum of four children per staff member will be able to participate.  We will have other cooking activities such as baking and decorating cakes and biscuits, which are open to all age groups and abilities.

We operate a keyworker system in the Clubs, where your child will spend time with similarly aged children & a member of staff, where they can group-plan and do things together.  This may be a special art & craft activity, going to the gym, playing games outside, or producing a Play.
