The Holiday and After School Club is operated by Once Upon a Time Day Nurseries. We are an inclusive setting, taking children from a wide range of multicultural backgrounds as well as abilities. Hot meals are provided during sessions which are included in the price. We care for children from St Andrews C of E Primary and Hermitage Junior and Infant Schools during term time and The Holiday Club is open to any and all who register with us for holiday care. School pickups/drops; car parking; funded children; childcare vouchers accepted. We are Ofsted registered and approved. Please visit our website for more details and to download more information.
After School Club - open from the end of School ‘till 6pm – a variety of teas are provided with plenty of fun activities to choose from.
Holiday Club - open 8am – 6pm Monday to Friday during school holidays (closed Bank Holidays and Christmas Leave). Children are offered a broad variety of fun and stimulating activities with a strong emphasis on physical development through play and sports. We offer both full and part-time places. Facilities include: outdoor play area; arts and crafts; construction toys and games; Playstation; DVD movies; imaginative play; quiet activities; cooking experiences; visits/outings. Some of these activities include:

Construction toys and games including...
Bricks, blocks, Lego, Mobilo, Morphun, cars, road maps, doll’s house, Barbies, action figures, Connect-4, Guess Who, chess Scrabble, Rummikub and many more. |
A wide variety of arts and crafts...
Drawing and painting with different mediums, including pastels, oils, fabric paints & dyes, batik painting and poster & powder paints.
Children will have opportunities to make things, including fridge magnets, door signs, bookmarks, decorated fans, hair clips, bracelets & necklaces, key rings, place mats, Hama bead pictures and much more.
There is also time set aside for children to experience manipulative and messy play. Activities such as glue, slime, Oublic and play-dough made in a variety of ways, producing different textures and smells. |
Quiet activities...
Children are able to go to a quiet area to read, play a quiet game, or just rest away from the activities. Staff will regularly check in on the children and will develop a shared reading option, whereby a book is chosen and the group of children together with staff takes turns to read to each other. |
Imaginative play
As an addition to the imaginative play in the construction, arts/crafts, cooking areas, we also have a home area of cups, saucers etc. which include dressing up clothes, beads bags and shoes (male and female). |
TV and DVD’s...
Children can also watch TV programmes or DVDs, but again times are restricted to certain times of the day. We will encourage the children to join in and watch together. |
PlayStation...
Children will have access to the PlayStation 2 and a wide variety of games. However, times are restricted as to when it is available and for how long children can play on it. |
| |
Cooking...
They will have the opportunity to prepare foods within their activities. Dishes would include pizzas, salads, dips etc. We will encourage the older (year 6) children to help with the more complicated foods such as spaghetti bolognaises, pasta bakes, etc. We will need your daily consent for your child to help. The member of staff leading this activity will hold a Food Hygiene Certificate and a maximum of four children per staff member will be able to participate. We will have other cooking activities such as baking and decorating cakes and biscuits, which are open to all age groups and abilities. |
| |
We operate a keyworker system in the Clubs, where your child will spend time with similarly aged children & a member of staff, where they can group-plan and do things together. This may be a special art & craft activity, going to the gym, playing games outside, or producing a Play. |
