| Description | Once Upon a Time Day Nursery was established in 1989, we provide quality, flexible and affordable childcare for children aged 3 months - 5 years. Our dedicated team of highly qualified and experienced staff, provide care and education based on the High/Scope learning philosophy, within a large Victorian house. |

| The secure, stimulating setting, is split into age-related rooms; Babies; Toddlers and Pre-School. We provide each child with a personal record of their achievements and in line with our policy of working closely with parents, ask that they also contribute towards this. We employ special educational needs co-ordinators and are an inclusive setting. We are Ofsted registered and approved. THE ROOMS Once Upon a Time Day Nursery is based in a large Victorian House, has 3 separate areas, each designed to cater for our 3 age-related groups. The 9-place Baby Room, which takes children aged from 3 months to 16 months. The 12 place Toddler Room for children aged 16 months to 2 years 6 months and the 30 place Pre-School suite of rooms for children aged 2 years 6 months to 5 years. |

THE SETTING Once Upon a Time Day Nursery environment has a bright, colourful and homely feel, where the children feel welcomed and secure. Each child has their own coat peg, shoe basket and pigeon hole where their belongings can be safely stored. We offer a healthy, well balanced and varied menu. Fresh fruit and vegetables are provided on a daily basis. We cater for the children's dietary and/or religious requirements. |

CHILDRENS ACTIVITIES At Once Upon a Time Day Nursery the children experience a wide range of activities such as; painting, play-dough, slime, puzzles games and cooking. Our aim is to develop the children's independence and social skills. We have regular local outings which include an urban farm, duck pond, the park and a supermarket. We also organise an annual family summer day-trip. Places we have been to in previous years include; Legoland, Woburn Abbey, Whipsnade Park Zoo, and Brighton beach. |

NURSERY SECURITY Once Upon a Time Day Nursery has an electronic fingerprint entry system which operates the security door to the building and the garden is fully fence enclosed with secure locked gates to either side of the premises. |

THE OUTSIDE AREA Once Upon a Time Day Nursery benefits from a large enclosed garden and play zone. Dedicated areas feature climbing apparatus, a water/sand tray, a digging area where the children can dig, look at worms and plant seeds. There is also a nature area where children can observe and investigate bugs. |
