| Description |
Safe Hands Day Nursery Ltd is a purpose-built nursery, designed specifically with children in mind. We are situated in the town of Diss and provide full-day care for children aged 2 months to 5 years on a full or part time basis From the hours of 8.00 am to 6.00 pm. |
|
The nursery consists of 3 main rooms, Baby Bunnies catering for children aged 2 months to 18 months, Little Ducklings for 18 months to 3 years and Farmyard Friends room for children aged 3 to 5 years. The nursery also has a beautiful outdoor area specifically designed to enhance and stimulate children’s learning and development.
All the rooms are dedicated to individual age groups and follow the Early Years Foundation Stage. Every child will gradually progress through each room; the timing of the move will depend on his or her stage of development and individual needs. |

Baby Bunnies
Our Baby Unit is designed to offer a home from home environment.
The Baby Room consists of a designated sleep room, play area, eating area and a separate milk kitchen and nappy changing area.
We provide a range of activities, which allow all babies to experiment and explore through a variety of play and sensory experiences using equipment to stimulate and encourage development.
A full record of nappy changes, feeds, sleeps and activities are recorded in the daily diaries and passed on to all parent/carers at the end of each session.
Tiny Talk baby sign language is used by the staff in Baby Bunnies. |

Little Ducklings
When your child is ready to enter the Toddler Room, they are becoming more independent and to encourage independence we offer a carefully designed programme of activities, throughout these activities the staff give lots of encouragement and praise. |
Each child is given a daily diary in which staff record the daily routine, meals, activities and nappy changes. The toddler room consists of a playroom, an eating area, a quiet area and a messy area. The toilets and basins are all low level with a changing area. When your child is ready for toilet training the staff will help in any way possible.

Farmyard Friends
At Safe Hands Day Nursery we pride ourselves in our balanced curriculum, which aims to help children take an active part in their development.
Learning also takes place outside the Nursery. Children can enjoy a wide variety of activities in our extended outdoor area and also a variety of trips and outings to places of interest in the local area and beyond. An information sheet called ‘What we did in (Month)’ is given to each parent at the end of the month that reflects the activities the children have been involved in. |
Your child’s key person or buddy will inform you of your child’s day detailing the activities they have been involved in, what they have eaten, when and if they have slept at the end of you child’s session.
There is also a detailed information board on activities planned and an environment plan which details the activities and resources available throughout the week. Your child’s key person will plan adult focused activities for your child and will explain these to you at the end of the session. We also have a wow board for you to write about those wonderful moments with your child that you would like to share.
