Millstone Day Nursery in Leicester

Our family run concern offers two of Leicester's best day nurseries both of which exemplify everything required by working parents. We have created, along with our dedicated staff, a happy, cheerful, safe atmosphere with an excellent range of amenities, providing the highest standards of care and supervision for children in attractive and welcoming surroundings. With a mixture of qualified nursery nurses assistants, we ensure that your child's needs, their age, are put first, offering them the best care possible and offering you peace of mind.

The high staff ratios at both our nurseries ensure the children receive a high level of individual attention.

Being OFSTED inspected we provide a broad and balanced curriculum, based on the government's Early Learning Goals. These emphasise the importance of encouraging a child's early language and literacy, numeracy and the development of personal and social skills.

By incorporating these into their daily routine, the children learn through a range of fun and varied activities including stories, singing, painting, dancing and movement to name but a few. Their play experiences are based around their individual and developmental needs, providing them with the correct stimuli, to reach their maximum potential at their own pace.

In addition, we have further facilities for those children at school. Our After School Care and Holiday Care is second to none. With our usual high standards, we have rooms designed to suit the needs of older children. Our Holiday Care gives a mix of educational and recreational activities and external trips to keep your child interested at all times. The After School Care offers the same with our exclusive school collection service via our own minibus.

Activities include:

Art
At both Lansdowne and Millstone nurseries we understand that people are at their most creative when they are young, hence we encourage all of the children to express themselves through art. During this time the children are encouraged to partake in various artistic tasks including painting, drawing and colouring. These activities are designed to encourage the child to express there creative side and develop their hand-eye coordination skills.

Ball pool
At our Millstone nursery we have a large ball pool for your child to play in while being supervised. This activity is highly popular amongst children of all ages and provides them with superb opportunity to burn off some energy.

Computers
Computers play a large part in most industries in toady's world and there is a very strong chance that your child will be using computer in their work as they grow older. Our nurseries have an IT area for the older children to increase there knowledge via our educational software packages. The children are encouraged to explore how the software packages work to assist with there education and understanding

Construction Toys
At our nurseries we understand that children need to develop their hand eye coordination from an early age, that is why we provide the children with construction toys to encourage the development of their hand-eye coordination and gives the child an opportunity to exploit there creative side.

Library
Everyone loves a good book, that's why at our nurseries we have a large library area to encourage your child to read. Reading is one of the hardest skills to master as a child and our nursery nurses will endeavour to do there best to help and encourage all children at our nurseries to develop their reading skills. For our younger children the staff frequently read for them while encouraging them to participate in the reading as a group as an attempt to boost their confidence with reading and encourage them to try and improve there reading skills.

Outside Play Area
Both of our nurseries have extensive outdoor playing areas for your child to run around and play in all day long. Both nurseries have a variety of outdoor toys to keep your child entertained while playing outside, as well as an outdoor supervisor to ensure optimum safety at all times.

Video
Lansdowne and Millstone both have extensive video libraries packed with educational programs, films, cartoons and other child centred television programs.

Excursions
During the school holidays the nursery offers day excursions for your child to take part in. In the past we have travelled to Skegness, Twycross Zoo, Wickstead Park and Drayton Manor to name but a few. Further to these long distance excursions we frequently provide shorter trips for the children's entertainment, such as going to the cinema or bowling.
